Jared Musima- National General Secretary

Jared Musima joined the YMCA in 1994 as a youth intern in Thika YMCA and served in various capacities from the Programme Manager rising to Senior Development Resources Manager before  his appointment as the  National General Secretary.

His aspirations is to be a leader in developing and mainstreaming Youth programmes and activities with the aim of  make   the World a better place for  Humanity.

Mr. Musima holds the following academic and professional certificates: -

- A Social Science Degree in Sociology and Anthropology-University of Nairobi-Kenya
- MBA Degree (with a bias in Strategic Management)-Moi University-Kenya
- Certified Public Secretary Certificate from KASNEB
- Diplomas in:  Business Administration/Management and Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from College of Professional Management-UK

He has   served in leadership capacities in various organizations at local and International levels including Rotary International, Y’s Men International, National Council of Churches of Kenya and other leading youth organizations in country including PACOYEK  (Partners Collaborating in Youth Empowerment in Kenya)  whose partners include YMCA, YWCA, Kenya Red Cross Society, Kenya Girl Guides, Kenya Scouts Association and Presidential Award –Kenya.

He has a wealth of experience in youth programming, leadership and management which he will leverage in driving the YMCA to greater Heights.

His Vision is to build healthy communities and empower young people by positively transforming their lives over the century through helping them to grow in mind, body and spirit. He believes this can effectively be achieved by promoting their active involvement in society and the development of healthy and sustainable communities. These foundations should be built upon by empowering the young people to play a very vital role in shaping their own lives as well the communities around them. The aim of Kenya YMCA should therefore be to support youth in Kenya to have a sense of belonging whilst making a positive contribution and fulfilling their individual potential.
