Background:

Kisumu YMCA Is Part Of The Nation Wide YMCA Movement Situated In Kisumu City, Kenya-E. Africa. It Was Established In 1972 As A Human Care Organization Rooted In Christian Traditions And Working On Biblical Values.

Programmes, Projects and Activities:

a) Vocational Training Centre

Kisumu YMCA Offers Trainings For Young People In Motor Vehicle Mechanics Electrical Installation Garment Making And Computer Science To Provide Basic Skills For Self Reliance.

b) Hostel And Boarding

This Is Run With An Objective To Accommodate Guests And Students from The Surrounding Estates And Localities That Forms The Larger Part Of The Community.

c) Christian Emphasis

The Branch Is Routed In Christian Values And Teachings. The Branch Holds Devotions (Prayers, Praise And Worship) On Daily Basis For Its Members And Amongst The Members. Christian Emphasis Programme Is Strengthened By Activities Such As Choir Bible Study And Other Outreach Activities.

d) Leadership Development

Kisumu YMCA Train Volunteer Leaders for the Work with Children and Youth in Workshops and Weekend Activities.

e) Recreation Activities

Since Many Youths Enjoy Sporting Activities Kisumu YMCA Offers A Variety Of Sporting Activities For Youths To Experience and Improve Their Skills. These Youths Enjoy Karate Volleyball Football Basketball And Many More.
